Pranava Yoga Center is a locally owned small business that offers a FREE week of yoga and is the only studio that offers a free week of yoga to everyone, including people not living in Colorado Springs.

PYC is the only studio that does not believe in putting

an expiration date on the 5, 10, and 20 class packages.

They will be good until the package is used up.

Are you new to yoga?

You will find a warm welcome at Pranava Yoga Center!  We believe that the practice of yoga can be for everybody.  We also know that it can feel scary or uncomfortable to try something new, but you have to start somewhere.  We have all been in those shoes before.  Our goal at PYC is to teach you the basics, so that you can benefit from all the amazing gifts of a steady yoga practice – greater strength, greater flexibility, more balance, less stress and an overall sense of well-being.  And that’s just to name a few!  Most practitioners who have made yoga a regular part of their schedule say that it has changed their life for the better.

If you are new to the practice, we suggest that you start off by taking any of the Basic classes listed on our schedule. These classes are designed to help you establish a foundation for your yoga practice. All of the Basics classes at PYC include basic yoga postures, proper alignment and basic breathing techniques.  You’ll experience standing poses, seated poses and relaxation in each class.  The teacher will also provide you with modifications to the poses, so that the class is accessible to you.  Hands-on adjustments are normal in class; if you would prefer not to be adjusted, please let the instructor know.

Things you should know:

Taking a break during class is always o.k.  Asking questions is always encouraged.
Please bring a yoga mat, towel, and water.  Wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict movement or circulation.  Yoga is practiced barefoot.  Please also check our website under FAQ’s to answer any other questions you may have.  And if you still have questions after that, please call us.

And just so you know…..here are some other common health benefits of having a steady yoga practice:

  • Improved muscle tone
  • Increased joint flexibility
  • Improved posture
  • Increased endurance
  • Improved bowel function
  • Improved circulation
  • Better breathing
  • Improved sleep
  • Increased energy levels
