What is the payment policy?
All applications and remaining tuition balance are due before completion of the program, usually around Week 5-6 of the program.  Certificate will not be given until the program is paid in full. Please check 200 & 500 Hr Program website page for details.

 

How Much does it cost?

For 200 Hour Teacher Training pricing we have 2 prices. Early Bird is $2200 (usually about 2-3 month prior to the deadline of the training); and the regular pricing is $2400 (can be a week to 2-3 months before the program begins).

 

For 500 Hour Teacher Training pricing we have 2 prices. Early Bird is $3100 (usually about 2-3 month prior to the deadline of the training); and the regular pricing is $3400 (can be a week to 2-3 months before the program begins).


Are there any scholarships offered?
No scholarships available for 200 hr and 500 hr program at this time.

 

 

Do the teacher trainees get discounted classes?

For 200 Hr Program, All teacher trainee's get unlimited classes until they are done with their training and automatically get specialty discounted rates for class packages and series after they graduate.

 

500 Hr Program is a 10 month program and will meet 1 weekend 1 Wednesday a month. All teacher trainee's will receive 20 class package for use. When you have completed the training, you will automatically get specialty discounted rates for class packages and series after you graduate.

 

How proficient in yoga do you have to be to do the program?

We strongly recommend that applicants have one year of consistent asana practice.. If you are new to yoga, this would not be an appropriate program to participate in. You will not benefit from learning yoga basics while simultaneously learning how to teach. That being said, you If you have a regular yoga practice, you may be more ready than you think. We are looking for our trainees with a solid foundation in the basic and fundamental yoga postures. Keep in mind this program is not only for aspiring teachers, but people who want to deepen their practice.


Does the fee include books?

Your teacher training manual is included with the program. Other textbooks are not but you can purhcase them through amazon or other internet store for the cheapest pricings.

Is Pranava Yoga Center planning on doing additional teacher trainings in the future?
Yes, PYC will have 2 teacher training per year and possibly adding another one. Dates beyond 2013 are not yet confirmed. PYC will offer 500 Hour certification in 2013.

 

How many students are enrolled in each Teacher Training at one time? What is the typical age range of the participants?

We typically have 10-17 individuals in our trainings. Students generally range in age from 21-60 years of age.

 

I do not live in Colorado Springs. Is there housing or place to stay near PYC?
Yes, there are many options. PYC is centrally locationed. If you need more information, please contact us. We will be more than happy to provide you with some suggestions.

 

What if I have to miss a weekend of the training?

The program requires that you obtain 200 hrs. The weekends are intensive and we feel that it is imperative that ALL weekends are attended.

 

What is the Yoga Alliance?

 

Yoga Alliance is an organization that was started in 1999 as a way to create nationally recognized standards for yoga teachers and yoga teacher trainings. More and more yoga studios across the country are requiring their teachers to register with the Yoga Alliance, either at the 200 or 500 hour level.
